We received three different bags of the Brownie Brittle to review: Salted Caramel, Toffee Crunch and Chocolate Chip. Between my husband, myself and our daughter Rose, we each found our own flavor that was our favorite.
Rose's favorite was easy - Chocolate Chip (no surprise there) - I did manage to sneak a piece when she wasn't looking so I could try it and it was really tasty and I loved the chocolate chip pieces in the brittle! My husband's favorite was the Salted Caramel - this had a delicious caramel/butterscotch taste to it with good sized chunks of caramely-goodness in the brittle. My favorite was the Toffee Crunch! I am a sucker for Heath toffee bars and just toffee in general and the Toffee Crunch brittle had generous sized pieces of the toffee chunks in it!
I am a fan of Brownie Brittle on Facebook for a while now and I was very excited to see that you can now find Brownie Brittle at Cracker Barrel which is about 10 minutes from our house! Want to find Brownie Brittle near you - check out their Store Locator! Plus you can purchase Brownie Brittle on their website as well for yourself or as a gift for someone special!
Here is some information about Sheila G. the creator of this fabulous treat:
In 1992, Sheila G. Mains, better known in the food business as Sheila G, took a treasured family recipe for fudge brownies and baked her way into a thriving business. You may even have tasted one of her rich, dense squares of heaven at some of our nation’s finest restaurants and theme parks. So, where exactly did the inspiration for her scrumptious new snack brownie brittle come from? Like many brownie aficionados, Sheila is particularly fond of the crispy edges. In fact, on many an afternoon she would walk through the bakery gathering the brittle batter off the sides of the sheet pans as the brownies cooled in their racks. It had that same rich chocolate taste, but with an amazing crunch. That started her wondering: How could she create a whole pan of crunchy edges? Well, lucky for us, she figured it out! Now you too can satisfy your sweet tooth in a snap with Sheila G’s Brownie Brittle!
