We love fall!! Apple treats galore abound at our house during this season! We were very excited to get the opportunity to work with Werther's to host a Werther's Original Baking Bash Mommy Party to sample out their new Werther's Baking Caramels!
We made our annual trip to our local orchard to prepare for this party and picked our favorite type of apples - Mutsu apples!! Our Caramel Plans? Caramel Apples, Apple Cake and an Apple Tart!
We loved working with the Werther's Original Baking Caramels. I found them easy to use - just unwrap and use! The instructions to melt them in the microwave are very easy and they can be incorporated easily into many desserts!
I made my Grandma Katie's Apple cake recipe which normally calls for powdered sugar to be sprinkled on top. I decided to turn it into a caramel apple cake instead and melted the caramels and drizzled over the top of the cake.
My sister in law and my daughter worked on making a rustic apple tart with caramel sauce and caramel apples. We loved the ease of using the Baking Caramels and I have to admit - we did sample a few on the side as well!
Visit the Werther's Originals website for mouthwatering caramel recipes, special offers/coupons, baking tutorials,
and even giveaways and sweepstakes!
