HOT HOLIDAY TOY REVIEW: Zoomer Pup Review

“The featured product was provided free of charge to facilitate my review, but all opinions are 100% the opinion of the Coupon Savvy Sarah family.”

I am willing to bet this hot toy is on most children's wish lists this year - I know it was on Rose's list! We were so excited to receive Zoomer to review before the holiday season! Zoomer is a “Wal-Mart Top 20 Chosen by Kids” Toy of the Year!! He comes in the black & white colors but also in purple and a white & pink version!

Zoomer Robot Dog is aimed at any children of age 5 years and older - Rose is 11 and had a blast playing with Zoomer!  Just like a real dog you'll need to teach him everything a puppy needs to know: Call his name, teach him lots tricks and watch how excited he gets when you reward him with a real good belly scratch.  Zoomer can understand English, Spanish and French. He even follows your movement with his cute puppy eyes. Download the free iOS or Android app to learn everything there is to know about training Zoomer. Before you know it he'll be laying down, rolling over, playing dead and more.

This is absolutely great fun for children who want a pet dog but who are still too young for the responsibility of a real dog. The more that he is played with, the more he will learn, he will also learn to recognize his owners too. One of the cutest features of Zoomer is that he has sensors on his belly so responds to a belly run by rolling over and showing hearts in his LED eyes. He can also play dead, when he does this, he appears to fall over and his eyes become X’s. Zoomer even goes to the toilet on command, lifting his back leg and even making sounds. Just like a real dog, if he’s left alone, he will go and explore the room and find things to play with and look at. Plus if you push the button on Zoomer's back, you will be rewarded with a random trick!

Zoomer playing dead for Rose

One tip Rose wanted to share is that Zoomer doesn't always understand his trainer right away because he is learning their voices....Rose found Zoomer best responded in a quieter room without background noise (like a TV) and she leaned in close to Zoomer's back to speak her commands clearly and he responded perfectly! She is trying to unlock some of the hidden commands that Zoomer has!

A tip I wanted to share....if you are giving this as a gift, Zoomer will need to be charged before playing with him. The instruction says 60 minutes to charge - ours charged within 30 minutes. But if you are sneaky enough, you can pull him out of the box, charge him, put him back in and put under the tree!! Zoomer can be charged with either a USB or AC meaning you can plug him in almost anywhere to charge!

Zoomer is available at most major retailers like Walmart, Toys 'R Us, Target and even online at retailers such as Amazon.

It won't turn on- and my daughter has been crying all day. Thanks spin master for releasing a toy that is completely useless!!!!!! We will never shop for a spin master toy again! You are the worst company in the whole universe! [That part is from my daughter!] - SJN , Missouri
