MADE IN MICHIGAN: Fessler's Original Sauce Review and Giveaway!

“The featured product was provided free of charge to facilitate my review, but all opinions are 100% the opinion of the Coupon Savvy Sarah family.”

Our Michigan-made product discovery continues with Fessler's Original Sauce which is located in Brighton, Michigan. With Summer finally here in Michigan, we are ready for grilling and BBQs with family and friends! What better way to compliment your grilled foods then sauces?

Check out Fessler's "Saucy Story":
Since the early 1920′s, Fessler’s Original Sauce has been enjoyed by fish and seafood lovers throughout Michigan. Fisherman would bring their fresh catch to the small tavern located on the shores of Lake Ponemah. Their catch would be prepared, served with fries, slaw and the “Fish Sauce.” Fessler's is a husband and wife team - Steve & Julie Fessler!

I love this because I grew up in Fenton and I know exactly the tavern where this sauce was created and served for years! Fessler's Original Sauce is now available in many Michigan retailers including Meijer, Spartan Stores and other local grocery stores in addition to being able to purchase their sauce, original squeeze bottle and gift bags online!

We tried Fessler's Original Sauce over the Memorial Day weekend while cooking out with my husband's family! It was great to be able to share a local product with my family and get their thoughts on it!

Everyone was pleased with the taste of Fessler's Original Sauce! We ate on burgers, brats and hot dogs and it was delicious! I even ate it drizzled over some fresh tomato slices! The sauce made me think of a tangy combination of a tomato ketchup and mustard and seasoned perfectly!! I love how simple the ingredients are and how well this sauce comes together! I can see using this sauce on fries, baked potatoes, in a dip recipe, baked on top of meatloaf, chicken, steak etc - very versatile!

For those of you watching your calorie intake like I have been - Fessler's Original Sauce is fat free and is only 15 calories per tablespoon so I can add it to my burger or brat and not feel guilty! Fessler's has their nutritional and ingredient information on their website HERE and Julie Fessler also told me that their sauce has 0 points if you are following the WW program!

You can check out Fessler's on their social media pages and stay in touch with their newest recipes, promotions and events out and around Michigan ( Facebook and Twitter ).

  26. I know the tavern where this originated too. I knew the lady who made it. I worked at this tavern for a short time...so did my mother, father, wife, and sister. If this is truly the same sauce, it is wonderful, I have never had another that comes close.
