Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy Movie Review

“The featured movie event was provided free of charge to facilitate my review, but all opinions are 100% the opinion of the Coupon Savvy Sarah family.”

I wasn't sure what to expect with Guardians of the Galaxy when I saw the trailer....It's a Marvel movie but the movie seemed to contain different types of superhero than you may be familiar with seeing on the big screen.

A short summary:
Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) is abducted by a large spaceship when he's young after his mother passes away. Fast forward twenty years later and he's a scavenger who finds objects that others want and sells them. The father of Gamora (Zoe Saldana) sends her to retrieve one of these objects, but both Gamora and Quill end up in jail with the funny Rocket (Bradley Cooper) the raccoon and his tree sidekick Groot (Vin Diesel) along with them. The four must work together to break out of the prison and also make sure that the evil Ronan (Lee Pace) doesn't destroy the galaxy.

The music in this movie was awesome (All 70's and 80's) - right from the beginning my husband and I were enjoying and tapping our feet. Honestly, Guardians of the Galaxy is nothing short of an amazing movie. It is the best superhero movie I have seen to date and honestly the best movie my husband and I have seen in over a year. Not only does it have the impressive set pieces and enough action to last you a lifetime, it has an emotional core and you actually get to care about each and every single character. Guardians of the Galaxy is filled with all the required thrills and spills of a first class action movie. It also has a great mixture of comedic value and a deal of seriousness.

Here is the trailer for the movie:

Guardians of the Galaxy is out today (August 1st) and is rated PG-13 with a run-time of 121 minutes. We plan on taking our daughter Rose to see this movie this weekend! I can't wait to see it again!

NOTE: Don't leave when the movie is done - there is post-credits scene!!
