The Joys of Saving and Giving this School Year with Ebates! #givingbackpack #ebates

Coupon Savvy Sarah was provided $25 by our sponsor Ebates to purchase a backpack and school supplies. I was not compensated in any other way for this post. #givingbackpack #ebates

Summer has flown by and Rose starts back to school in 3 weeks! Yikes - where has the time gone? I know the stress and financial burden of school supplies is hard for a lot of families and I am excited to partner up with Ebates to help out a local family alleviate some of their back to school expenses!

If you are not familiar with Ebates - it's awesome! It literally pays to shop online! Ebates is the pioneer and leader of online cash back shopping. Ebates pays members cash back every time they shop online as well as provide them with the best coupons and deals online. Founded in 1998, Ebates Inc.’s websites have paid over $250 million in cash to its members. That’s why millions of people have joined Ebates.

I just got an email from them saying my Big Fat Rebate Check is in the mail for $39.52! I love getting money back on items I needed to purchase anyhow! Plus if you sign up for Ebates for free, you can get a $10 gift card to one of your favorite retailers after making a $25 purchase through Ebates!

We found some wonderful sales for these back to school items! We purchased FOUR backpacks ($2.99 each) at Walgreens in July and tons of school supplies in addition to donations from friends and family! I reached out to one of our local organizations that helps families out in our area and they got me in touch with a large family with 4 children in Elementary School and 2 in Middle School! I made sure to add some supplies for the older kids too so we didn't leave anyone out!

I got to meet the family recently to give them their backpacks and the kids were so cute and polite and very excited about their bags! It was awesome! I hope to do this again next year!

Please consider doing something like this within your community - there is always a need and it is always appreciated!

  2. This is so cool!! There is a 'stuff the bus' program here and it's similar; you buy backpacks and school supplies and there is an actual bus to fill up with it which is driven to a school and handed out. It's an awesome way to remind kids that not everyone can just drive to the store and buy whatever they need!

  9. I love Ebates and I also enjoyed working with them to provide kids with school supplies and backpacks. I had fun saving money and shopping. We also stuck some surprises in the backpack so they could have something fun the night before school started as well.

  10. I have never tried Ebates... I will check it out. I love the paying forward too. So many kids are without the means to bring supplies for school. Teachers end up footing the bill for pencils, paper and other supplies.
