Baby K'tan Baby Carrier Review - Perfect for Multi-tasking Parents & Baby-Wearing!

The featured product was provided free of charge to facilitate my review, but all opinions are 100% the opinion of the Coupon Savvy Sarah family.”
My daughter is 12 and when she was a baby, the carriers that were available on the market were very expensive and honestly not that comfortable to wear. I first came across the Baby K'tan in Chicago a couple summers ago while in town for a blogging conference. I was very intrigued with the design and level of comfort that it seemed to provide and I snagged a brochure for more information.

Fast forward to now - my sister is the proud mommy of five children - the littlest two are currently 13 months (#4) and 2 1/2 months (#5). She definitely has her hands full! I was very excited at the opportunity to work with Baby K'tan and give my sister the opportunity to "babywear" #5 while chasing after #4 who currently gets into everything!

We received the original Baby K'tan cotton carrier in black to try out. Baby K'tan has a very handy sizing chart available which I highly recommend you checking out if you are purchasing one because I would have purchased a carrier based on current size and not pre-pregnancy size as they suggest. The carrier size is based on the person that will be wearing it so if you and your spouse are not similar in size/build, you might not both be able to use this. I love that you can even get the carrier embroidered too if you wanted.

The Baby K'tan came in a soft handy tote which actually turns into a support sash (and then converts back into the tote for convenient storage). The carrier is designed to give you a comfortable support while carrying the baby and slips on easily like a shirt.

Here is some more information about the Baby K'tan:
  • 100% natural cotton with unique one-way stretch
  • A wrap without all of the wrapping - slips on like a t-shirt
  • Innovative double-loop design provides extra security for baby
  • Multiple wearing positions from newborn to toddler, 8-35 lbs
  • Ergonomic positioning for healthy infant development
  • Machine washable, dryer safe - no buckles, snaps or hardware
  • Back support-band evenly distributes weight across back and shoulders
  • Free matching sash converts to handy storage bag

Me being the older sister - I had to try out the Baby K'tan carrier myself! I wanted to see how the carrier compared to the ones I had been used to over a decade ago. The carrier comes with a very detailed manual with illustrations on how to wear the Baby K'tan in different positions depending on how you wanted to carry your baby and positions that work for the parent and child as the baby gets older.

I loved how easily the soft stretchy straps slipped on. The carrier is very easy to put on and very comfortable. I got to carry #5 nice and snug against me, in addition to #4 wanting to be picked up and held by her Auntie Sarah! I truly felt like the multi-tasking mommy! The Baby K'tan allowed me to move around easily, all the while knowing that #5 was snug and secure against me.

Baby K'tan baby carriers are now available in a wide range of choices: Original Cotton K'tan, Organic Cotton K'Tan, Active K'tan (100% Polyester that wicks away moisture), Cotton Print K'tan (cute patterns) and Breeze Baby K'tan (a cotton mesh blend providing added breathability). Baby K'tan even offers Previously Loved/Gently Used K'tans.

  3. That looks comfy. I used a bjorn and it wasn't the most comfortable thing and the moby was a little much for me. This would have been nice to have for my little ones.
