Do you ever look at someone and wonder what is going on inside their head? Disney•Pixar’s original new film “Inside Out” ventures inside the mind to find out as it releases today on Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD.

Inside Out has a run-time of approximately 94 minutes and has a lot of bonus features depending on which movie format you buy including the shorts: LAVA and Riley's First Date (so cute). You can purchase the movie at major retailers nationwide in addition to online at Amazon.

Inside Out Movie Synopsis:

Based in Headquarters, the control center inside 11-year-old Riley’s mind, five Emotions are hard at work, led by lighthearted optimist Joy (voice of Amy Poehler), whose mission is to make sure Riley stays happy. Fear (voice of Bill Hader) heads up safety, Anger (voice of Lewis Black) ensures all is fair and Disgust (voice of Mindy Kaling) prevents Riley from getting poisoned—both physically and socially. Sadness (voice of Phyllis Smith) isn’t exactly sure what her role is, and frankly, neither is anyone else.

Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it's no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. The Emotions are on the job, eager to help guide her through the difficult transition. But when Joy and Sadness are inadvertently swept into the far reaches of Riley’s mind—taking some of her core memories with them—Fear, Anger and Disgust are left reluctantly in charge. Joy and Sadness must venture through unfamiliar places—Long Term Memory, Imagination Land, Abstract Thought and Dream Productions—in a desperate effort to get back to Headquarters, and Riley.

Our Thoughts:

Being parents of a tween (almost teen), we deal with the wide range of emotions that all children and young adults go through as they deal with changes - physically, emotionally and mentally - and they learn how to control their emotions or express themselves. I hope in seeing this movie, my daughter takes away the knowledge that everyone has feelings and emotions and even though we might not see it on the outside or be aware of what they are thinking or feeling.

Two scenes stick out in my head that were my favorites! The first was a scene between the family eating dinner and Riley is back-talking to her parents (been there, done that!). In the scene we catch a glimpse inside the mom and dad's heads as well with their Emotions and how they interact with each other during this situation.....seriously it could be a dinner scene at my house! My other favorite scene was one where Riley was at a hockey game and encounters a young boy her age and we catch a glimpse inside his head and the emotions of a teenage boy - it was hilarious! Make sure you stay through the credits as always with Disney movies because you will get to see some extra scenes that weren't in the movie!
