With the school season in full swing, Monster and Kellogg’s want to help your child stay excited about the school year while empowering their individual personalities. Have you noticed around this time of year the excitement of the new school year starts to wear off and our kids start to drag? I know it has with Rose! Monster and Kellogg's have shared a few ways to get your child excited again and ready to start each day with a great start.

Your kid is unlike any other, so let’s promote their personality power. Here are a few top back pack basics sure to engage and inspire them to let their individuality shine!
  • Keep them satisfied. Whether they’re sassy and savory or super and sweet, pack them a smart snack to suit their personality and get their juices flowing. Smart snacks are baked, low in fat and available in pre-portioned, smart-sized packets.
  • Creative catalyst. Inspiration can strike anywhere from the bus to the playground. Give your kids the tools they need to capture it with a small sketch pad and a supply of colored pencils.  Keep a compact set of supplies in their backpack so they put every idea to paper every time!
  • Music motivation. It doesn’t matter if your style is hip-hop, alternative or country, nothing defines your style and gets you moving like music. Monster N-Tune on-ear headphones brings your favorite music, movies and games to life with unmatched clarity and depth;  hand-tuned with precision and bass designed to blow you away. Their compact sleek colorful design completes any style and will fit perfectly in a backpack.
  • Stylish security blanket. Every kid has it, that one piece of clothing that makes them feel like a king or queen. Put that shirt, scarf or hat – whatever it is – into their backpack so they can easily sport it whenever they need an extra confidence booster at school!

Rose is now officially a teen and expressing herself as an individual is extremely important at this time with her age. She loves music and it helps provide an escape to her as she listens to it while doing homework or even just to relax and unwind. She loved the Monster N-Tune headphones - especially since wearing them helps tune out the background noise and lets her concentrate on what she is doing. She loved how lightweight and stylish they were as well. I like that they have their own carrying case and how compact they are so she can take them with us on the go. The Monster N-Tune Headphones are currently priced at $79.95 on Monster's website and have a MSRP of $129.95 (I found them on Amazon at a further discounted price) - they are very high quality and come in a wide array of colors to suit everyone's individual style!

When our kids were in school, we would offer rewards for good grades. However, if there was an area they weren't doing well in, we would help them go through each of their assignments.

  21. luckily my oldest is only in preschool, so there's not a whole lot of motivation that needs to be done. just keeping him busy until schools back in because he misses it so much! lol

  24. Everything is a reward system. Gives them something to work toward and to be excited about.

  25. My motivation for them has always been "the talk" about their grades being their own reward. That the grades do not reflect our future, but THEIRS. When we put that back into their own court they changed a lot. WELL, and a few heavy groundings without phone and car. Rewards would then BE the phone and car use, gas money and perhaps a special concert.

  26. We stay motivated with rewards and organized with routines every weekday. On the weekends we do family fun stuff and go out to eat as rewards for keeping the grades and doing all homework.

  28. My daughter has at least one homework meltdown a month. We do rewards at the end of each week that she doesn't have any homework problems!
