Disney's #Zootopia in Theaters Today | Don't get left out in the #Wilde .... #Hopps to It!

“We were invited to screen the featured movie free of charge in order to facilitate this review, but all opinions are 100% the opinion of the Coupon Savvy Sarah family.”

In case you hadn't heard, Disney's newest animated film, Zootopia hits theaters today, March 4th! Although it is an "animated" film, don't let that deter you.....grown-ups will really appreciate this family-friendly movie with some of the current social topics it addresses.

Here is a brief overview of the movie Zootopia:

The modern mammal metropolis of Zootopia is a city like no other. Comprised of habitat neighborhoods like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown, it’s a melting pot where animals from every environment live together—a place where no matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew, you can be anything. But when rookie Officer Judy Hopps arrives, she discovers that being the first bunny on a police force of big, tough animals isn’t so easy. Determined to prove herself, she jumps at the opportunity to crack a case, even if it means partnering with a fast-talking, scam-artist fox, Nick Wilde, to solve the mystery.

Visually this movie is stunning! Disney knocked it out of the park with their production design. Zootopia's metropolis is comprised of different neighborhoods that are reflective of different cultures like ritzy Sahara Square or the hot and humid Rain Forest; there is even a downtown area called Savanna Central that acts as a melting pot for all the mammals to come together.

Hands down one of the funniest parts in the movie!

The lead female character, Judy Hopps is voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin. She is a strong and determined female lead who sticks up for people and pursues her dreams. I love that despite her friendship with the male lead character, Nick Wilde, that Disney did not turn him into a love interest and let her character flourish as a strong female role model whose love interest is her job!

I feel as though Zootopia's underlying themes were geared more for mature audiences yet the fantastic animation and delightful characters will capture kids attention making this the perfect movie for the entire family to go and see! I don't think the kids will catch the reference made by the villains that predators make up 10% of the population and should be made out to be public enemies, but as an adult you will most likely pick up on the racial statistics. Zootopia shows how prejudice appears and affects our daily lives - even showing how it exists and affects the relationship between Judy and Nick initially. There are also a couple of parts that might make the kids (and yourself) jump out of your seats as glimpses of the past and present events involving the predators unfold.

Zootopia is Rated PG and has a run-time of 108 minutes. It is now available in theaters nationwide. Get social with Zootopia and follow them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for the latest news!
