Making a Difference this Back to School Year with the Giving BackPacks Campaign and Classroom Direct! #GivingBackPacks

“The featured products were provided free of charge from Classroom Direct and Real Advice Gal to facilitate this post and subsequent donations to our local community, but all opinions are 100% the opinion of the Coupon Savvy Sarah family. This post may contain affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.”

My family and I are firm believers in helping others out. We regularly donate items to our local shelters and organizations that help those in our community. Our 13 year old daughter Rose has been donating all the toys from her birthday parties to our local Toys for Tots organization for the past 7 years because she didn't want other children to go without gifts for the holidays (so proud of her).

This is our third year participating in the Giving BackPacks Campaign and we have received backpacks with supplies and even filled many backpacks on our own to the brim with snacks, school supplies and other items kids need when heading back to school. With the help of different community leaders I work with, I have been able to find families to donate the backpacks to - you can read all about our first experience here!

We are very proud to be a part of the campaign again this year to help out more families that might be struggling and need a helping hand. This year we are very excited to be working with Classroom Direct as a sponsor of this campaign.

We received a backpack filled to the brim with supplies specifically targeted for a student in grades 7-8. It contained many school supply items that are necessary for each child to have for their different classes throughout the day such as folders, binders, filler paper, composition notebooks, a sketch pad and even a flash drive and Texas Instruments calculator. The backpack also was filled with pencils, different colored pens, highlighters, permanent markers, index cards, a ruler, glue sticks, scissors and many other necessities.

I reached out to our local organization called "Old Newboys" in Flint, Michigan. Their motto is "Let No Child Be Forgotten." I have worked with this group before to find families in need to donate to throughout the years and this year they found me a middle school young lady to donate this pack to! School for most of us in Michigan starts after Labor Day so this came at the perfect time for their family when they needed the help most! I highly suggest if you are able to this year still or even think ahead to next year when you come across clearance backpacks in the coming weeks, to purchase a couple to fill up and donate to your local school or reach out to a non-profit in your area to find a family in need.
