The Perfect Graduation Keepsake Gift for your Senior (Moms & Dad's with Elementary Age Kids - READ NOW!) #ad

I came across a wonderful keepsake idea many years ago while reading a magazine and it is intended to be a gift for your son or daughter when they graduate High School.

The idea behind this gift is to purchase an inspirational book and have all of your child's teachers sign the book each year and then give your Senior the book upon graduation as a gift (also would be perfect to display at their open house).

There are two books that I highly recommend that are sweet and inspirational! One is Curious You: On Your Way (featuring Curious George) by H. A. Rey and the other book is Oh, The Places You Will Go by Dr. Seuss.

Rose was already in 4th grade when I saw this idea so I had a little backtracking to do with teachers and they were so helpful and accommodating! Rose is currently a Freshman in High School.

If this is an idea that you find appealing, I suggest starting as early as preschool and get as many signatures and words of encouragement from teachers as you can. I know that your students will have a lot more teachers as they move forward in their schooling so I would take the book to parent/teacher conferences or open houses in a manila envelope with a note inside asking what I wanted and I gave it to our daughter's favorite teachers (even the principal!). Typically I asked them to email me once it was signed and leave it in the office with the secretary for me to pick up. All of this done under the radar without Rose knowing.

Be sure to keep this book in one spot so that you will know where to go back each year to find it - trust me, I have misplaced this book twice!

You could even start this as late as your child's Senior year and even switch it up by passing it around to family members to sign and give encouragement - it's never to late and it will be a treasured keepsake.

You can purchase these books at any major book retailer nationwide or use the handy links below to get them on Amazon as I did! What type of special graduation keepsakes have you done or are currently doing for your kid when they graduate?
