As the last months of the school year approached us, we found ourselves in need of scientific graphing calculator - an item the teachers didn't tell us we would need at the beginning of the year. I am sure we are not alone in this with other high school parents finding themselves in similar dilemmas. Thank goodness CASIO graphing calculators came to our rescue this school year!

Casio sent us out one of their newer calculators to test out - the Casio PRIZM fx-CG50 Scientific Graphing Calculator. What I like about this calculator right off the bat is knowing that anyone that purchases this calculator is making an investment because the PRIZM is an all-purpose calculator. It is designed for students from beginning algebra through calculus and beyond. It also includes apps that make it appropriate for use in statistics, financial math, geometry and more.

Here is a little bit more information about the CASIO PRIZM fx-CG50 Scientific Graphing Calculator:

With the advanced features of a next-generation graphing calculator, the fx-CG50 PRIZM will support students and educators through middle school and high school and into college. With Natural Textbook Display and an intuitive icon-based menu, students will find the PRIZM incredibly easy to use and its brand-new 3D Graph Drawing and improved catalog function allows for greater engagement and real-life application in the mathematics classroom.

Casio's calculator has seriously blown us away with the high quality color graphics and all the algebra survival skills thus far. Easy to use and operate from the moment we turned it on, the larger size buttons and the helpful quick start guide. I am glad she has this for her future math classes as well. As I said before - this is an investment for your entire family that you will be very happy with....I know this would have been a saving grace for me when I was in high school years ago!

You can use Casio's handy store locator here to find where to purchase them and I found their manuals link super helpful...the Quick Start Guide pamphlet is perfectly sized for Rose to keep slid inside her calculator case, but I love that I was able to easily download the pdf file of the manual to my computer in case we need it. You can access all the manuals here.

  1. I remember needing this for school and mine was not this cool. This one looks so much easier to use too. My nephew will need one soon and I'll suggest this one.
