Keep the Kids Busy this Summer with Our Top THREE 2017 Summer Reading Programs! #SummerReading2017

With schools letting out soon for the summer, why not broaden your child's world through their imagination while reading books! Our go-to place to find summer resources is your local library. Library programs will help your kids stay excited about reading and prevent summer learning loss. Our local library has a really fun summer reading program full of great prizes and rewards as kids hit their reading milestones - we visit as much as we can throughout the summer!

Here are some other great Summer programs and resources for you to help keep your kids reading while school is out:

Barnes and Noble Summer Reading Program (one of our favorites but my daughter is too old to participate in it!)

The Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Program is here to help you on your way, encouraging you to read books of your own choosing and earn a FREE book (Available for Grades 1-6) - Just follow these three easy steps below:
  1. Read any eight books this summer and record them in this Summer Reading Journal. Tell them which part of the book is your child's favorite, and why.
  2. Bring your completed journal to a Barnes & Noble store between May 16th and September 5th, 2017.
  3. Choose your FREE reading adventure from the book list featured on the back of the journal.

Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge

Scholastic's Summer Reading Program runs May 8 though Sept 8, 2017. You kids can log their reading minutes, earn virtual rewards and even enter to win prizes from Klutz.

Chuck E. Cheese's Reading Reward Chart

Your child can earn 10 free tokens {with a food purchase} for reading minutes each day. Print out the reward chart at home and bring into Chuck E. Cheese's. Just a tip - Chuck E. Cheese has TONS of rewards charts so make sure to check them all out - from cleaning your room to brushing your teeth and even a potty training one!
