I am so excited that PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES is now available in theaters everywhere! It’s been a long 6 years but Captain Jack is finally back and this is the perfect film for the whole family! My daughter and I got to see an advanced screening and it was awesome! She hasn't seen the previous 4 movies due to her age but she is psyched to go back and watch them now - so if you haven't seen the movies before, don't fret - you will still love it! PLEASE NOTE - Stay through the end credits please....you will be happy you did!

Movie Synopsis:

Johnny Depp returns to the big screen as the iconic, swashbuckling anti-hero Jack Sparrow in the all-new “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.” The rip-roaring adventure finds down-on-his-luck Captain Jack feeling the winds of ill-fortune blowing strongly his way when deadly ghost sailors, led by the terrifying Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle bent on killing every pirate at sea—notably Jack. Jack’s only hope of survival lies in the legendary Trident of Poseidon, but to find it he must forge an uneasy alliance with Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario), a brilliant and beautiful astronomer, and Henry (Brenton Thwaites), a headstrong young sailor in the Royal Navy. At the helm of the Dying Gull, his pitifully small and shabby ship, Captain Jack seeks not only to reverse his recent spate of ill fortune, but to save his very life from the most formidable and malicious foe he has ever faced.

“Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” also stars Kevin R. McNally as Joshamee Gibbs, Golshifteh Farahani as the sea-witch Shansa, David Wenham as Scarfield, Stephen Graham as Scrum, and Geoffrey Rush as Captain Hector Barbossa.

Our Thoughts:

Rose and I got a fantastic 3D sneak peek of of the fifth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie - Dead Men Tell No Tales. I confess that Rose hadn't seen the previous movies due to her age at the time (it's been 6 years) and she LOVED this movie as did I. She wasn't lost having not seen the others but I know she missed a few references. We plan on binge-watching the first 4 movies this weekend. I have to say I am happy to see this installment came back around to the original draw of the first 3 movies (the 4th was missing my boyfriend Orlando Bloom and his love interest Kiera Knightly) and including glimpses of these two characters. I definitely recommend seeing this movie - we will be taking my husband this weekend!

  3. Johnny Depp is one of my favorite actors of all time. Although have to admit the Pirates Movies are my least favorite of his movies. I still watch them with the family, because they love them and I love Johnny Depp.
