The New Year always brings about a desire for change and improvement. I made the resolution over a year ago to start a healthier lifestyle by eating better and working out and in the past year I have lost over 40 pounds and feel fantastic! This year I plan on continuing my healthy lifestyle change to get to my goal weight and then maintain it from there.
Did you make any resolutions this year? Did you know that most resolutions only last a few days? Unfortunately it is because most of us set ourselves up for failure by setting goals too high to reach. How about making 2015 the year for the #RealisticResolution?
What are Realistic Resolutions? They are a set of small, attainable goals that can be reached in a timely fashion. Setting small goals and achieving them helps me stay motivated and on track versus a large goal off in the distance.
Gorton's Seafood has teamed with Spark People to create a series of tips, suggestions, workouts and recipes to help you make those resolutions a reality!
Gorton's Seafood has so many delicious varieties of fish available including Tilapia, Haddock, Alaskan Pollock, Salmon, Flounder, Shrimp and Clams! Our daughter Rose has been exploring her love of seafood over the past year and discovered how much she loves shrimp (especially Gorton's Butterfly Shrimp and Shrimp Scampi). Fish is an extremely healthy, diet-friendly, food which is the perfect way to stay on track with healthy eating! Gorton's Seafood also offers eleven gluten-free items and none of their products contain MSG!
We tried the Gorton's Simple Bake Tilapia with Signature Seasoning. The Tilapia comes in two foil pouches that we baked in a shallow pan. Once the Tilapia was done, we simply snipped open the pouches and slid it on a plate with the delicious sauce.
The Tilapia was perfectly cooked and moist and the signature seasoning sauce has a wonderful kick to it; my husband loved it so much I thought he was going to lick his plate (instead he settled for using pieces of bread to soak up the remaining sauce). I am looking forward to trying the Grilled varieties of Gorton's Seafood next.
I highly encourage you to join me in participating in the free 30-day Realistic Resolution Challenge from Gorton's Seafood and SparkPeople. It is the perfect place to start if you are wanting to start a new, healthy lifestyle. Each day, for 30 days, you will receive an email with a challenge. Each challenge is simple to do and there are some great resources and information included. You can log in every day and collect points for completing the challenge as a way to encourage you in your goals.
