Easter Surprise Cupcakes Recipe - A Fun Holiday Treat!

Easter Surprise Cupcakes
A Fun Holiday Treat!

I came across this fun cupcake idea on the website Tablespoon and I knew I had to make something similar for our family's Easter celebration! I love how simple it is to put together and it's a fun dessert that you can have the kids help with!

Ingredients
  • 24 pre-made cupcakes, cooled (your choice of flavor/color)
  • 1 container of frosting (your choice of flavor/color)
  • 24 marshmallow PEEPS chicks
  • 1-1 1/2 cup assorted mini candy-coated chocolates, jimmies or confetti candy sprinkles (we used Easter and Spring themed Wilton's sprinkles and M&Ms speckled egg-shaped chocolate candies)

Tools needed: Melon baller (or spoon, small measuring spoon)

Using melon baller, scoop out center of each cupcake, about 1 inch deep.

Fill each cupcake with 1 heaping teaspoon of candies as you can fit them.

Frost cupcakes with desired amount of frosting and top each one with a PEEPS chick.

Store loosely covered. 24 servings
