More about the Michigan Renaissance Festival:
Take a time-travel adventure into the 16th century at the 37th annual Michigan Renaissance Festival! Join our Queen Elizabeth in a jubilee! Inside our turreted gates, visitors enjoy the sights and sounds of a 17-acre village, complete with building reproductions of Renaissance shops, taverns and a magnificent castle. Continuous entertainment takes place on the streets and on 17 themed stages; featuring full-contact armored jousting, comedy and theater shows, music, games, people-powered rides and so much more! Fabulous food and more than 300 artisans displaying their gallery-quality works complete the experience!
We have been attending the Renaissance Festival for over 20 years and they are always adding new foods, vendors, shows and attractions to the event. Some of the popular event attractions are Feast of Fantasy, Renaissance Romance, King's Happy Hour, Pub Crawl, Once Upon a Tea Time, Pig 'N Swig (gourmet bacon and beer tasting - this was a fun event!) and even a special Ladies Shopping Day.
During the show my husband (seated - far right) was pulled in to participate |
The two Halloween events that were so popular last year are back again this year in October - Horton Lake Outbreak and Phantom's Feast. We attended the Phantom's Feast last year and had so much fun. It is geared more toward adults and the food and entertainment was fantastic!
The 37th annual Michigan Renaissance Festival takes place during the following weekends, including Labor Day (9/7) and Friday (10/2), in 2015: August 22-October 4, 2015. The village gates open at 10 a.m., officiated by the shire's beloved Queen, and close at 7 p.m (Rain or Shine!). With so much to see and do, Festival guests are encouraged to arrive early each day. FREE PARKING is a bonus!
This year's weekend themes include:
Harvest Huzzah - 9/26-9/27
Festival Friday - 10/2
Sweet Endings - 10/3-10/4
Ticket pricing and information on discounts for tickets available on their website. You can also click the Michigan Renaissance Festival banner ad on our blog (as seen above) to purchase discounted tickets! If you are interested in any of the special events or Halloween attractions, make sure to book your tickets now because a lot of the events sell out quickly since they are so popular!
