Family time is precious in our house because our family is always on the go between my husband and I working full-time, Rose in school and then all the extracurricular activities that take up a huge chunk of our time. So when we are home we truly enjoy making the most of our time together, whether it be a family movie night, cooking and baking together in the kitchen or even family game nights. We even set up regular family game nights with our friends for the extra fun of more players!
I was very excited to work with Winning Moves Games. I had heard a lot of their games from friends - especially Pass the Pigs and the No Stress Chess game. Winning Moves is a leading maker of board games, card games, and puzzles and they have forged a close relationship with one of the world's largest game companies, Hasbro, Inc., owner of Parker Brothers and Milton Bradley. As a result, many long-lived Parker Brothers and Milton Bradley games are now made exclusively by Winning Moves!
Winning Moves sent us out five games to try out during our family and friends game nights and we have been diligently testing them out the past few months! We received No Stress Chess, Rack-O, Pass the Pigs Pig Party!, Connect 4 Twist & Turn and Fish Fish Squish.
No Stress Chess (Ages 7 +)
Unlike any other Chess teacher, No Stress Chess teaches you how to play using illustrated cards and an illustrated 2-sided board.
Connect 4 Twist & Turn (Ages 6+)
Just like the classic game play of Connect 4, but each layer of the tower twists! See if you can "Drop, Twist and Win!"
Rack-O (Ages 8+)
Players randomly slot ten cards on their rack. The race then begins to draw and discard until one player positions ten cards in numerical sequence. Sound simple? It is but you will need skillful play, concentration and just a little luck to win.
Pass the Pigs Pig Party! (Ages 7+)
Now up to 4 players can play ALL at once - WITH HOT NEW COLORED PIGS! Four pairs of Pigs are included. It's Pass The Pigs and MORE! More pigs, more points and more fun!
Fish Fish Squish (Ages 5+)
Mold your own school of dough-fish and get ready to "squish" your opponents' fish! Every three-in-a-row with the cards earns you a squish. But, stay on your fins! Everyone else is trying to squish your fish too!
No Stress Chess - for real! |
Our Thoughts:
These games are brilliant! The instructions are all clear and concise. Rose was even able to play the games with some of her younger friends without us adults having to explain the directions to them (as is the case with some games!). We took a new game each week out for our family and friends game night so we could focus our attention on those games. We truly loved them all - I loved the new twist on Connect 4 which was one of my favorite games growing up. My husband and daughter absolutely loved No Stress Chess. My husband is an avid chess player and has been trying to teach Rose but she just didn't have the patience to learn with his verbal instruction. She was gushing to me how easy No Stress Chess made it to play Chess with her Dad with the action cards and two-sided chess board - this game kept them busy during the last month before school started back up!! With the holidays coming up (and of course birthdays and game nights all year round), I would highly recommend checking out the huge selection of family friendly games that Winning Moves has to offer!
Winning Moves Games are available on their website and at retailers nationwide. Follow them on Facebook and Twitter as well for the latest promotions and news!
Winning Moves Games is giving one lucky winner an amazing Game Prize Pack of all the games seen above - that is 5 fantastic games! Winner must reside in continental US Only - no P.O. Boxes please!
