Rose has always enjoyed imaginative play on her own (and even with friends and cousins) from a very early age. She is 13 now, but she still will head to hear room or our sun-room to play with all her different toys that she hasn't quite given up yet. She was super excited when Calico Critters Luxury Townhouse arrived at our door.
The Calico Critters Luxury Townhouse is recommended for ages 3 and up. I always recommend adult supervision when little ones are that young though because some of the accessories are really tiny for a 3 year old. My little nieces (aka #4 and #5) will be able to play with this in the coming months. Rose set it up all by herself and even added a few homemade accessories to it while she holds it hostage, I mean...in safekeeping, for her little cousins.
A little bit of information about the Calico Critters Luxury Townhouse:
The lights turn on and off in this spacious four-room townhome, and the room divider can be moved to create a fifth room. The home opens and closes for lots of decorating and pretend play fun. The movable staircase and extra floor area can be used to create larger rooms. House measures 12"" x 12"" x 12"" closed, 21"" x 21"" x12"" opened. Note: Critters, furniture and accessories sold separately.
Deluxe Living Room Set (Sold separately) |
As I mentioned, Rose put the townhouse together herself and the instructions were easy to follow. The townhouse comes basically with the home itself, the staircase, the reversible square floor, the balcony and the light fixtures that turn on. All the different furniture sets, accessories and Critter families are sold separately. We managed to get our hands on the deluxe living room set to show all of you how cute this play set is with some furnishings. The accessories and furniture pieces are so adorable and life-like! Rose loved the little coffeepot and "old-fashioned" telephone.
This playset is a lot of fun and will thrill your little one with hours of creative play. Calico Critters have a large line of houses, playsets, furniture, accessories and of course - the Critter families! You can purchase them at major retailers nationwide in addition to online at Amazon. You can also download free wallpaper patterns from Calico Critters website to print at home to decorate your Critters' homes with!
