LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Michigan opens Friday March 25th! Check out our Sneak Peak Inside! #LDCMichigan

Disclosure: I am a LEGOLAND Discovery Center Michigan Ambassador and will receive tickets in exchange for promoting the attraction. All views expressed here are those of Coupon Savvy Sarah.

Metro Detroit's newest attraction, the LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Michigan, opens tomorrow (March 25th) at Great Lakes Crossing Outlets in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Rose and I recently attended a special media preview event and were able to experience everything firsthand!

A brief overview of the LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Michigan:

  • LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Michigan is a 32,000-square-foot indoor attraction that features millions of LEGO® bricks and themed exhibits including a 4D cinema, two interactive rides, large soft play areas and much more.

  • The attraction features a MINILAND display inspired by the metro Detroit region. MINILAND is amazing and created with such attention to detail! There are even interactive spots where kids can push a button and watch a construction worker hammer away. You are able to experience GMRENCEN, Spirit of Detroit, Belle Isle, Motown Museum, Fox theater, Guardian Building, Comerica Park, Uniroyal Tire, Michigan Central Station, and the Heidelberg Project all in MINILAND form. Plus the area features day and night settings giving you a different perspective of the city.

Tickets must be purchased in advance and will be available online (walk-up admittance will not be available). Adults must be accompanied by a child to enter, but there will be monthly adult nights for the 18 and older crowd that want to check out this attraction - check out the events page for more details and dates!

The LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Michigan is located in District 6 of the Great Lakes Crossing Outlets so you will want to make sure to park in the area marked 6 and look for the bright yellow building! LDC is situated near the food court and also Merlin Entertainment's other family-friendly attraction, SEA LIFE Aquarium (in fact, there are even combo passes available on LDC's website to check out both attractions).

Once inside, we checked out the LEGO Factory tour first. It is an interactive experience showing how LEGOs are made and the kids are able to create their own virtual LEGO person. After that we made our rounds to the Kingdom Quest ride to save rescue the Princess and strolled through the awe-inspiring MINILAND with all the amazing landmarks of Detroit. We took a ride on Merlin's Apprentice, spent time watching the 4D movie and checked out the different play areas filled with LEGOs for kids to play with. There is even a fun play area for the kids to climb and run around to burn off steam and energy while parents sit down for a breather! LDC is recommended for children ages 3-10 - Rose enjoyed herself because she still loves her LEGOs!!

Don't let me forget to tell you about the LEGO store on the way out!!! Wall to wall LEGOs!!! Rose loves her LEGO Friends so of course she had to purchase a set that she "had to have" with money she saved up! The selection is extensive with different sets for different age ranges.
