Disney Channel welcomes Sydney to the Max to their lineup premiering Friday, January 25 at 8:30 p.m. EST/PST.

A heartwarming and sentimental live-action comedy that will resonate with kids 6-12 and parents alike, “Sydney to the Max” revolves around outgoing middle schooler Sydney Reynolds who lives with her protective yet doting single dad Max in the house where he grew up. Along with her trendy and progressive grandmother Judy—three generations under one roof—the sitcom, set in the present day with flashbacks to the 1990s, demonstrates that tween milestones and the challenges of growing up never really change.

As Sydney’s preteen pursuits begin to expand with unexpected and funny twists, Max tries to get a better sense of the guidance, perspective and support she needs. Grandma, armed with parental wisdom and wisecracks, has a razor-sharp memory that proves Max’s own teenage antics parallel Sydney’s.

Whether it is experimenting with a new hairstyle that becomes a #HairFail, deciding to stand up for gender equality or learning how to deal with unexpected body hair, flashback scenes to a young Max and his best friend Leo parallel the challenging and often comical predicaments Sydney and her vivacious friend Olive find themselves in.

While their adolescence is separated by three decades as well as generation-defining tech and fashion (think VHS camcorders and bleached skater hair) in every episode, Sydney and Max grow closer as they learn they have more in common than they initially thought.
