Are you looking for a fun Valentine craft which doubles as a treat to make with your kids? These Wonderful Halos Valentine Lovebugs are perfect to make for school Valentine's parties or in preschools and daycares as a fun project.

For this project we were sent supplies from Wonderful Halos which included their Halos mandarin oranges, foam hearts, googly eyes, glue dots, toothpicks and glitter glue. If you don't have these specific items, I would suggest construction paper for the hearts, tape to adhere hearts to toothpicks and markers for the eyes and nose if you don't have the items for the face.

Lovebug Instructions:
  • Using the glue dots, adhere a large foam heart underneath the Halos mandarin to create feet.
  • Insert one toothpick into the bottom point of a foam heart or use a glue dot on the back of the foam heart to adhere (Repeat for the second antenna).
  • Insert the antennae into the top of the Halos mandarin next to each other.
  • Use the glue dots to attach the googly eyes to the front of your lovebug.
  • Use glitter glue to make a cute little button nose. My nieces went a step further and used a marker to make a mouth!

Wonderful Halos are an excellent source of Vitamin C. One serving (two medium mandarins) contains 50% of the recommended daily value. Halos are also a great source of fiber and provide a natural energy boost. Use their store locator here to find them near you.

The girls LOVED eating their Halos after the craft!
