Getting an earlier release than previously announced, the highly anticipated Netflix original, DreamWorks She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, will now be streaming on November 13th!
The 13 half-hour episodes tells "the epic story of an orphan named Adora, who leaves behind her former life in the evil Horde when she discovers a magic sword that transforms her into the mythical warrior princess She-Ra. Along the way, she finds a new family in the Rebellion as she unites a group of magical princesses in the ultimate fight against evil." Check out the trailer below!
Stevenson, an Eisner Award-winning writer and comic artist known for the beloved, female-centric stories in Lumberjanes and Nimona, brings her writing and visual flair to this re-imagining of the hit series.
The ensemble cast includes Aimee Carrero (Elena of Avalor, Level Up) as Adora/She-Ra, along with AJ Michalka (The Goldbergs, Steven Universe), Karen Fukuhara (Suicide Squad), Marcus Scribner (black-ish), Lorraine Toussaint (Orange is the New Black) and Vella Lovell (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend). Guest stars include Sandra Oh, Jordan Fisher, Lauren Ash and Krystal Joy Brown.
Having watched not only He-Man, but then the awesome spin-off She-Ra while growing up in the 80's, I can tell you I am psyched about checking out this reboot of this wildly popular series! I have heard a lot of positive buzz about it, plus Netflix moved it's release up 3 days so we won't have to wait much longer! In the meantime, DreamWorks sent us this really fun mailer (above) so we could "She-Ra Ourself" with a DIY sword and cape, plus you can't forget the tiara! It definitely got us in the mood for this upcoming release!

DreamWorks Pictures’ “The Light Between Oceans” is a heart-breaking drama about fate, love, moral dilemmas and the lengths to which one couple will go to see their dreams realized. Movie Synopsis:
In the years following World War I, Tom Sherbourne (Fassbender), a young veteran still numb from his years in combat, takes a job as lighthouse keeper on Janus Rock, a remote island off the coast of Western Australia. As the island’s sole inhabitant, he finds comfort in the monotony of the chores and the solitude of his surroundings. When he meets the daughter of the school’s headmaster, Isabel Graysmark (Vikander), in the local town of Partageuse on the mainland, Tom is immediately captivated by her beauty, wit and passion, and they are soon married and living on the island. As their love flourishes, he begins to feel again, their happiness marred only by their inability to start a family, so when a rowboat with a dead man and infant girl mysteriously washes ashore, Isabel believes their prayers may have finally been answered. As a man of principle, Tom is torn between reporting the lost child and pleasing the woman he loves, and against his better judgment he agrees to let Isabel raise the child as their own, making a choice with devastating consequences.
DreamWorks Pictures’ “The Light Between Oceans” opened in U.S. theaters on September 2, 2016 and is film is rated PG-13.
My husband and I recently attended an advance screening of The Light Between Oceans and I was sure what to expect. I typically always watch the trailer before seeing a movie but I wanted to go into this movie without knowing a glimpse of what might happen....I just knew I would probably need tissues (a lot). The movie has a slow pace to it that some might not like, but it is reflective of that period of time and of the lead character Tom's profession. I love the forward, fun nature of the character Isabel and it is sad to see some of that disappear in the movie due to losses she suffers. This movie definitely makes you question how far you would go for the one you love whether it be your wife, husband or child. Take tissues - you will thank me!
