Experience the Old-World European Charm of the Bavarian Inn Restaurant & Lodge in Frankenmuth, Michigan

“Disclosure: Coupon Savvy Sarah is receiving a complimentary night's stay, dinner and waterpark passes in exchange for sharing this deal with my readers, but all opinions are 100% the opinion of the Coupon Savvy Sarah family.”

Frankenmuth is one of Michigan's top tourist destinations and with the town's old-world European charm, it's no wonder why it is such a popular place to visit. I have been visiting Frankenmuth yearly since I was a child and we have friends that live there so we get to check out all the cool stores, restaurants and fun festivals throughout the year! We were thrilled at the opportunity to stay as a guest at the Bavarian Inn Lodge along with their waterpark and dine at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant. It was definitely amazing to be able to experience another side of the town that we had never checked out before.

About Bavarian Inn Restaurant:
Celebrating 125 years of service in 2013, the Bavarian Inn Restaurant has become a Michigan landmark. Guests experience the old-world European charm of the Bavarian Inn - whether it's the famous chicken dinners, fresh baked goods or Michigan's greatest selection of German beer. Nestled within a backdrop of authentic German architecture, a variety of shops and other fun activities, a trip to Frankenmuth would not be complete without a visit to the Bavarian Inn Restaurant.

We enjoyed excellent service with our server and she made great recommendations for us. We dined on two German dishes: the Rouladen (beef rolls) and Jager Schnitzel (bread pork loin with mushroom sauce). You definitely will not walk away from your meal hungry at the Bavarian Inn. We feasted on an assortment of breads, soup, four different salads, our main meals and even a scoop of ice cream for dessert. My husband is from Germany and he gave the Rouladen two thumbs up for how tender and delicious it was (I agree!). Rose and I shared the Jager Schnitzel because it was such a large meal and we loved it. Thankfully our room had a refrigerator in it because we ended up taking our leftovers back to our room and snacked on them later.

About the Bavarian Inn Lodge:
The Bavarian Inn Lodge, nestled along the Cass River in one of Michigan's top tourist destinations - Frankenmuth - is one of the state's largest Indoor Water Park Hotels. The Lodge has 360 European-themed guest rooms, including whirlpool and family suites, an adult-only pool, two gift shops, two lounges and two restaurants -- all under one roof. The Lodge's expansive 35,000 square feet Family Fun Center houses two dramatic waterslides, three pools and two whirlpools, over 100 video and redemption games, a two-story children's play village and Willy's Kingdom indoor mini-golf course.

To get to the Bavarian Inn Lodge, you must drive through the wooden bridge over the Cass River - it's very scenic and beautiful. The Lodge is expansive and all the rooms are named after the settlers of the town and each room has a history about each family with photos - it's really interesting! Our room was on the third floor with a balcony and a gorgeous view of the Cass River. There are free shuttles available to take you from the Lodge to the Main Street which is nice since you will be doing a lot of walking around the city because there is so much to see with all the various shops on the main street and the River Place Shops.

There are four pools spread out throughout the lodge including one of them with with two water slides and one specifically for adults. You can also find other things to keep you busy such as the Lorelei Lounge, Oma's Restaurant, Willy's Mini Golf and a Ratskeller filled with a fun play area and an arcade of games for the children (and adults) to enjoy!

The next morning, Rose dragged her Dad to the pool for some water slide fun while I walked over the covered bridge and onto Main Street to grab some pastries and coffees from one of the local shops.

It is not a long walk and it is very peaceful in the morning and honestly, you can't beat the view while walking around the Cass River. I have been to Frankenmuth many times in my life but I was able to see another beautiful side of it that I am very thankful to have discovered. If you are looking for a family-friendly getaway or an overnight staycation with your significant other, I would highly recommend checking out the Bavarian Inn Lodge and Restaurant in Frankenmuth, Michigan. It's beautiful, scenic, historical and filled with European flair and charm.

You can learn more about the Bavarian Inn Lodge by visiting their website and also following them on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.  There are so many festivals, gatherings and events that happen in Frankenmuth year-round, from their SnowFest in February to their World Expo of Beer in May and Bavarian Fest in June - there is never a shortage of fun events and attractions to explore!
