Local Children Invited to Join the Creative Crew at LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Michigan #LDCMichigan

Disclosure: I am a LEGOLAND Discovery Center Michigan Ambassador and will receive tickets in exchange for promoting the attraction. All views expressed here are those of Coupon Savvy Sarah.

LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Michigan is seeking young LEGO fans to apply to join the Creative Crew, a group of 12 children aged 6-12 who will participate in fun and exciting activities, special events and assist the attraction’s Master Model Builder, once the role is filled in January 2016.

The Creative Crew contest will run from Thursday, November 12th, through Monday, December 7th, on LEGOLAND Discovery Center Michigan’s Facebook page. Interested children must construct an original LEGO model and submit a video, or photo and written answer, to the question, “How does LEGO inspire you?” Submissions will be evaluated based on the creativity and enthusiasm in the child’s response, along with the imagination conveyed in the child’s LEGO model.

Those selected will serve as special ambassadors leading up to the attraction’s grand opening and beyond, building and testing new models for events, reporting on what’s new and sharing top tips on everything LEGO—from the best seat in the 4D cinema to how to get the highest score on the rides.

“Everything we do at LEGOLAND Discovery Center is designed to bring joy to families and encourage creativity and imagination for children,” said Hayley Anderson, general manager for LEGOLAND Discovery Center Michigan. “We are so excited to build a special team of LEGO fans from the community and to see what inventive and colorful ideas our Creative Crew will bring to the attraction.”

The 12 members of the Creative Crew will be announced on Thursday, December 10th. The Creative Crew’s first event will be to assist in the selection of LEGOLAND Discovery Center Michigan’s Master Model Builder through the two-day Brick Factor event at Great Lakes Crossing outlets Saturday and Sunday, January 9-10, 2016.

LEGOLAND Discovery Center Michigan will be a 32,000-square-foot indoor attraction featuring millions of LEGO bricks and themed exhibits including a 4D cinema, two interactive rides, large soft play areas and much more. To keep up with pre-opening events and activities, or for more information, please visit their website or Facebook page.

Vote Today and Help decide which Local Michigan Landmarks will be featured in the New LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Michigan's MINILAND! #LDCMichigan

Disclosure: I am a LEGOLAND Discovery Center Michigan Ambassador and will receive tickets in exchange for promoting the attraction. All views expressed here are those of Coupon Savvy Sarah.

Merlin Entertainments, the world’s second largest visitor attraction operator, is asking the Michigan community for help in determining which of the area’s beloved landmarks – historic buildings, big bridges or famous statues – should be built from LEGO® brick and featured in the MINILAND exhibit when the LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Michigan attraction opens next spring.

Inspired by the metro Detroit region’s sights and culture, MINILAND is a miniature LEGO brick landscape of local buildings, attractions and other notable landmarks, and is one of the most highly anticipated displays at each new LEGOLAND Discovery Center.

An example of what MINILAND looks like from the LEGOLAND Discovery Center Chicago attraction!

The first round of MINILAND voting will allow fans to write-in their favorite landmarks, and will run through LEGOLAND Discovery Center Michigan’s Facebook page starting today, Monday, October 12 through Monday, October 26. The top ten most popular landmarks will be announced on Wednesday, October 28, and a final top landmark will be determined through a second round of voting running from Monday, November 2, through Monday, November 16. The winning landmark will be announced on Wednesday, Nov. 18, and will be unveiled prior to LEGOLAND Discovery Center Michigan's grand opening at Great Lakes Crossing Outlets in Auburn Hills this spring.

LEGOLAND Discovery Center Michigan will be a 32,000-square-foot indoor attraction featuring millions of LEGO bricks and themed exhibits including a 4D cinema, two interactive rides, large soft play areas and much more. To keep up with pre-opening events and activities, or for more information, please visit their website or on Facebook and Twitter.

Experience the Old-World European Charm of the Bavarian Inn Restaurant & Lodge in Frankenmuth, Michigan

“Disclosure: Coupon Savvy Sarah is receiving a complimentary night's stay, dinner and waterpark passes in exchange for sharing this deal with my readers, but all opinions are 100% the opinion of the Coupon Savvy Sarah family.”

Frankenmuth is one of Michigan's top tourist destinations and with the town's old-world European charm, it's no wonder why it is such a popular place to visit. I have been visiting Frankenmuth yearly since I was a child and we have friends that live there so we get to check out all the cool stores, restaurants and fun festivals throughout the year! We were thrilled at the opportunity to stay as a guest at the Bavarian Inn Lodge along with their waterpark and dine at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant. It was definitely amazing to be able to experience another side of the town that we had never checked out before.

About Bavarian Inn Restaurant:
Celebrating 125 years of service in 2013, the Bavarian Inn Restaurant has become a Michigan landmark. Guests experience the old-world European charm of the Bavarian Inn - whether it's the famous chicken dinners, fresh baked goods or Michigan's greatest selection of German beer. Nestled within a backdrop of authentic German architecture, a variety of shops and other fun activities, a trip to Frankenmuth would not be complete without a visit to the Bavarian Inn Restaurant.

We enjoyed excellent service with our server and she made great recommendations for us. We dined on two German dishes: the Rouladen (beef rolls) and Jager Schnitzel (bread pork loin with mushroom sauce). You definitely will not walk away from your meal hungry at the Bavarian Inn. We feasted on an assortment of breads, soup, four different salads, our main meals and even a scoop of ice cream for dessert. My husband is from Germany and he gave the Rouladen two thumbs up for how tender and delicious it was (I agree!). Rose and I shared the Jager Schnitzel because it was such a large meal and we loved it. Thankfully our room had a refrigerator in it because we ended up taking our leftovers back to our room and snacked on them later.

About the Bavarian Inn Lodge:
The Bavarian Inn Lodge, nestled along the Cass River in one of Michigan's top tourist destinations - Frankenmuth - is one of the state's largest Indoor Water Park Hotels. The Lodge has 360 European-themed guest rooms, including whirlpool and family suites, an adult-only pool, two gift shops, two lounges and two restaurants -- all under one roof. The Lodge's expansive 35,000 square feet Family Fun Center houses two dramatic waterslides, three pools and two whirlpools, over 100 video and redemption games, a two-story children's play village and Willy's Kingdom indoor mini-golf course.

To get to the Bavarian Inn Lodge, you must drive through the wooden bridge over the Cass River - it's very scenic and beautiful. The Lodge is expansive and all the rooms are named after the settlers of the town and each room has a history about each family with photos - it's really interesting! Our room was on the third floor with a balcony and a gorgeous view of the Cass River. There are free shuttles available to take you from the Lodge to the Main Street which is nice since you will be doing a lot of walking around the city because there is so much to see with all the various shops on the main street and the River Place Shops.

There are four pools spread out throughout the lodge including one of them with with two water slides and one specifically for adults. You can also find other things to keep you busy such as the Lorelei Lounge, Oma's Restaurant, Willy's Mini Golf and a Ratskeller filled with a fun play area and an arcade of games for the children (and adults) to enjoy!

The next morning, Rose dragged her Dad to the pool for some water slide fun while I walked over the covered bridge and onto Main Street to grab some pastries and coffees from one of the local shops.

It is not a long walk and it is very peaceful in the morning and honestly, you can't beat the view while walking around the Cass River. I have been to Frankenmuth many times in my life but I was able to see another beautiful side of it that I am very thankful to have discovered. If you are looking for a family-friendly getaway or an overnight staycation with your significant other, I would highly recommend checking out the Bavarian Inn Lodge and Restaurant in Frankenmuth, Michigan. It's beautiful, scenic, historical and filled with European flair and charm.

You can learn more about the Bavarian Inn Lodge by visiting their website and also following them on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.  There are so many festivals, gatherings and events that happen in Frankenmuth year-round, from their SnowFest in February to their World Expo of Beer in May and Bavarian Fest in June - there is never a shortage of fun events and attractions to explore!

The popular favorites of TGI Friday’s, Perkins and TOMO Hibachi Grill are available for your dining pleasure. Complimentary Wi-FI and fitness room are also be available...bonus! The rooms were super comfortable and we had a beautiful view of the coasters at Cedar Point in addition to the shores of Lake Erie.

Being a guest of the hotel - you get early access to Cedar Point's park. This was a huge benefit to staying at Hotel Breakers because my husband and daughter were able to ride The Rougarou (the newest coaster) before the lines were long! We had so much fun at the park and with being a hotel guest, we were able to leave a couple times during the day to come back to the room, rest and get out of the sun, eat, etc, before heading back for more rides - we loved it. And it was all within walking distance!

If you are looking for some summer fun, be sure to check out Hotel Breakers! They have affordable rates, discounted passes to Cedar Point (plus early access to the park) and the gorgeous shoreline of Lake Erie.  You can place your reservations online at cedarpoint.com/hotelbreakers or by phone at (419) 627-2106. I would also suggest checking out their website for any special offers!
