Author M. Mabie is back again with the third book (and conclusion) Anchor, in The Wake Series and I must say - I couldn't put it down.
Before I go on - if you haven't read The Wake Series yet, you must start with Bait and Sail (Books One and Two). Our Thoughts:
Without giving away any spoilers (and truly insisting on you binge-reading Bait and Sail as I have multiple times leading up to the excruciatingly long wait for Anchor to be released) - as the cover suggests, Anchor revolves around the upcoming wedding of the two main characters Blake and Casey. What I really love about M. Mabie's Wake Series is that all three books are told from both Blake and Casey's perspectives alternately which is so refreshing because you know what both characters are thinking and feeling. From the first book Bait until the final book Anchor - both Blake and Casey mature and grow as individuals and as a couple and it is beautiful to watch unfold. In Anchor there are some additional character voices as well which was a nice twist. Anchor truly gave me a satisfying ending for the two characters that I have grown to love and root for. I cannot express enough how much I love these books and even though their story is done, I can continue to go back and revisit the love story of "Lou" and "Honeybee."
