Did you know that April is National Volunteer Month? Chuck E. Cheese’s knows the importance of giving back and helping others! For the month of April, Chuck E. Cheese's nationwide are hosting a donation drive where families can donate $1, $5 or any amount of their choice to help Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) match “Littles” with “Big” mentors.
When kids donate, they get to write their name on a Pin-Up ticket and stick it on the wall to show their support. This is a fantastic way to teach our kids and grand-kids about helping others, volunteering and making a difference.
Our daughter Rose is 13 and this past November was her 7th year donating all her birthday gifts to our local Toys for Tots organization because she wanted to make a difference in children's lives. She has even volunteered at the Toys for Tots warehouse to help sort and pack up gifts for kids whose families need a little extra help around the holidays. It is important to teach our kids about helping others at a young age because they are our future. I am so happy that their are organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters to match up caring and compassionate adults with younger kids to help mentor them.
Come celebrate Little Big Night Out at any Chuck E. Cheese’s location on 3/31/16. Mention Big Brothers Big Sisters and 15% of your sale will be donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters. My family and I will be there in support of this great partnership (plus the pizza and salad bar is fantastic so it's a night off cooking for me!).
Show your ongoing support by donating to Big Brothers Big Sisters at any Chuck E. Cheese’s location 3/31/16-4/30/16 to help match Littles with Bigs and provide lifelong mentorship for positive change.
In addition to super fun birthday parties and group events, did you know that you can host a Fundraiser at Chuck E. Cheese's to help support and earn money for your school or non-profit 501(c)3 organization? Get all the details here!
Visit Chuck E. Cheese's website and sign up for the Chuck E-Club® email newsletter. I get it periodically and it is filled with deals, promotions, coupons and more! You can also find coupons for your next visit on their website and I highly recommend printing off some of their rewards calendars for your kids as a chance to earn extra tokens (rewards calendars for good behavior, reading, chores, homework and more).

I like to have them find special gifts for others or choose some of their new gifts, or part with some of their old toys when we need to make room, to donate to other kids who may not get all the great toys they get.

ReplyDeleteWe talk to them about being a blessing to others, we give of what we have either being financially, time or resources.

ReplyDeleteI teach my kids to give back by showing them what it looks like and having them participate. Through the experiences they realize how much they benefit from giving rather than receiving.

ReplyDeleteIf we are donating cash I always let the kids hand in the money. I let them clean out their clothes and toys to donate to charity.
ReplyDeleteThe kids help with donating food. I have them help go through their clothes and toys to donate. They also like to shop to donate toys at Christmas time.
ReplyDeleteWe teach the grandkids about donating by giving to our local Pirate Toy Fund at Christmastime. They enjoy choosing toys to donate & making the trip to the mall to drop them off.
ReplyDeleteI help my grandchildren go through their clothing and toys that either do not fit or that they no longer use and we donate them to organizations within the community.
ReplyDeleteI teach my son about giving back by having him help me go through his clothing and toys he has outgrown and have him accompany me to the Salvation Army to donate them. I also live out in the country and have a pretty nice plot of land that we grow veggies, some fruit trees and we have chickens for eggs and I have my son help me gather everything and take to the local mission to donate to families in need. I am very dedicated in helping those in need and giving back to the community and I want to instill that in my children as well.
ReplyDeleteMy kids like to donate to those who need. We gather up bags a few times a year. We also participate in school coat drives.
ReplyDeleteWe volunteer as a family at a local food pantry, and the kids also help donate their old toys and clothing.
ReplyDeleteWe give back by giving to the local food bank. My children will use some of their allowance to purchase canned goods for the pantry.

ReplyDeleteWe teach our kids to give back by making goodie bags and passing them out to people in need in our community.
ReplyDeleteI have taught the to give their toys, clothes to some else to love.
ReplyDeleteEveryday I tell my son to do one nice thing for someone.. whether it be helping the teacher or holding a door open. He has learned his act of kindness can change someones day. We also volunteer and help manage our local food bank :)
