ICE AGE: COLLISION COURSE Opens in Theaters Today! #IceAge

“We were invited to screen the featured movie free of charge in order to facilitate this review, but all opinions are 100% the opinion of the Coupon Savvy Sarah family.”

My family and I had the pleasure of attending an advanced screening of Ice Age: Collision Course, which opens in theaters nationwide today, July 22nd! Needless to say - we all loved it!

Brief Movie Overview:

Scrat’s epic pursuit of the elusive acorn catapults him into the universe, where he accidentally sets off a series of cosmic events that transform and threaten the Ice Age world. To save themselves, Sid, Manny, Diego and the rest of the herd must leave their home and embark on a quest full of comedy and adventure, as they travel to exotic new lands and encounter a host of colorful new characters.

Our Thoughts:

Ice Age: Collision Course is definitely a movie that would be pleasing to the entire family. There was enough slapstick humor, humor adults would get that went over the kid's heads and just outright funny moments. Granny is one of my favorite characters - she is a hoot! I love seeing the family dynamic of the characters, especially as the parents, Manny and Ellie, are dealing with the possibility of their daughter Peaches leaving them once she marries her beau Julian - It is a struggle a lot of families can identify with! I won't give any spoilers but thanks to Scrat and his never-ending quest for his acorn, he keeps this movie on it's toes!

Ice Age: Collision Course is Rated PG, has a run time of 1 hour, 34 minutes and is now available in theaters nationwide. Get social with Ice Age: Collision Course and follow them on Facebook and Twitter for the latest news!

“The featured product was provided free of charge to facilitate my review, but all opinions are 100% the opinion of the Coupon Savvy Sarah family. This post may contain affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.”

Star Wars: The Force Awakens shattered box office records upon its debut to become the cinematic event of a generation with over $926 million domestic and $2 billion worldwide. If you haven't seen this epic movie yet, you can now bring it home today on Digital HD, Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD!

Movie Synopsis:

Star Wars: The Force Awakens saw the eagerly anticipated reteaming of original Star Wars stars Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill, along with Anthony Daniels, the only actor to have been in all seven Star Wars films, and Peter Mayhew. The returning cast was joined by newcomer Daisy Ridley, who beat out fierce competition to take the principal role of Rey; BAFTA Rising Star Award winner John Boyega (Attack the Block, Imperial Dreams) as reluctant stormtrooper Finn; Emmy® nominee Adam Driver (Lincoln, Girls) as the villainous Kylo Ren, and Golden Globe® winner Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis, The Bourne Legacy) as Resistance pilot Poe Dameron.

Our Thoughts:

We saw this movie in the theater with our daughter and it did not disappoint. The new character additions like Rey, Finn and the lovable droid BB8 are fantastic! I will not give any spoilers away in case you haven't seen it, but The Force Awakens is a must-see for any Star Wars fan. The bonus features available on the Blu-ray combo pack and DVD are awesome - especially the deleted scenes and behind-the-scenes glimpses which reveal some story-line secrets.

Disney•Pixar’s INSIDE OUT Movie Review #InsideOut

“The featured movie event was provided free of charge to facilitate my review, but all opinions are 100% the opinion of the Coupon Savvy Sarah family.”

Do you ever look at someone and wonder what is going on inside their head? Disney•Pixar’s original new film “Inside Out” ventures inside the mind to find out.

My family and I had the pleasure of attending an advanced screening of this movie this week and it was filled without a lot of humor and young and old alike were laughing all around us in the movie theater. There was also an all-new movie short called "LAVA" that the audience got to see right before the movie played.

Inside Out Movie Synopsis:
Based in Headquarters, the control center inside 11-year-old Riley’s mind, five Emotions are hard at work, led by lighthearted optimist Joy (voice of Amy Poehler), whose mission is to make sure Riley stays happy. Fear (voice of Bill Hader) heads up safety, Anger (voice of Lewis Black) ensures all is fair and Disgust (voice of Mindy Kaling) prevents Riley from getting poisoned—both physically and socially. Sadness (voice of Phyllis Smith) isn’t exactly sure what her role is, and frankly, neither is anyone else.

Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it's no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. The Emotions are on the job, eager to help guide her through the difficult transition. But when Joy and Sadness are inadvertently swept into the far reaches of Riley’s mind—taking some of her core memories with them—Fear, Anger and Disgust are left reluctantly in charge. Joy and Sadness must venture through unfamiliar places—Long Term Memory, Imagination Land, Abstract Thought and Dream Productions—in a desperate effort to get back to Headquarters, and Riley.

Inside Out Movie Trailer:

Our Thoughts:

Being parents of a tween (almost teen), we deal with the wide range of emotions that all children and young adults go through as they deal with changes - physically, emotionally and mentally - and they learn how to control their emotions or express themselves. I hope in seeing this movie, my daughter takes away the knowledge that everyone has feelings and emotions and even though we might not see it on the outside or be aware of what they are thinking or feeling.

Two scenes stick out in my head that were my favorites! The first was a scene between the family eating dinner and Riley is back-talking to her parents (been there, done that!). In the scene we catch a glimpse inside the mom and dad's heads as well with their Emotions and how they interact with each other during this situation.....seriously it could be a dinner scene at my house! My other favorite scene was one where Riley was at a hockey game and encounters a young boy her age and we catch a glimpse inside his head and the emotions of a teenage boy - it was hilarious! Make sure you stay through the credits as always with Disney movies because you will get to see some extra scenes that weren't in the movie!

INSIDE OUT Fun Movie Facts:
  • PICTURE THIS - The background memories on shelves inside or outside of Headquarters are shots from the “Married Life” scene in “Up.”
  • ROAD TRIP – As Riley and her parents trek to San Francisco, they come across birds on a telephone wire from production designer Ralph Eggleston's 2000 short film "For the Birds.”
  • GLOBAL DÉCOR - The globe in the Riley’s classroom has been used in all the “Toy Story” films.
  • FAMILIAR FASHION - One of Riley’s classmates is wearing a camo pattern made up of “Toy Story” characters.
  • STUCK ON YOU - Some of the background city cars of San Francisco have bumper stickers from “Cars.”
  • TECH SAVVY - Dad's company, Brang, is a nonsense word intended to sound like a startup that would fit in in the San Francisco tech scene.
  • SIGN HERE - A sign on a parking meter in San Francisco reads, “Quarters and Dollar Coins or Barter During Burning Man.”
  • IT’S ALL ABOUT LOCATION - As a tribute to the Walt Disney Family Museum, the filmmakers set Riley’s hockey rink in the exact spot the museum is located in San Francisco.

Disney Pixar's Inside Out opens today, June 19, 2015 and is rated PG with a run time of 94 minutes.

Disneynature's Monkey Kingdom in Theaters Today - A Must-See for ALL Ages!! #MonkeyKingdom

“The featured movie event was provided free of charge to facilitate my review, but all opinions are 100% the opinion of the Coupon Savvy Sarah family.”

Disneynature’s MONKEY KINGDOM opens today (4/17) in theaters everywhere. If you go see MONKEY KINGDOM during opening week (April 17-23) and Disneynature will make a donation in your honor to Conservation International to help protect monkeys and other endangered species in their natural habitats. Learn more about their conservation efforts here. I love when companies give back and it was really great to see in the opening of the film how all the donations have been used from the past films that Disneynature has released.

Monkey Kingdom Movie Synopsis:
Life is an adventure for Maya, the clever and resourceful blonde-bobbed monkey in “Monkey Kingdom,” Disneynature’s new feature film set among ancient ruins in the storied jungles of South Asia.

Maya’s world is forever changed when she welcomes her son, Kip, into her complicated extended family. Like all families, Maya’s has more than its share of colorful personalities — and she’s determined to give her son a leg up in the world. When their longtime home at Castle Rock is taken over by powerful neighboring monkeys, Maya's whole family is forced to relocate, and she uses her street smarts and ingenuity to lead them to untapped resources amidst strange new creatures and unsettling surroundings. Ultimately, they will all have to work together to reclaim Castle Rock, where Maya can hopefully realize her dreams for her son’s future.

Featuring a rich variety of characters, including a mischievous mongoose, simple-minded langur monkeys, predatory leopards and monitor lizards, “Monkey Kingdom” is directed by Mark Linfield (“Chimpanzee,” “Earth”) and co-directed by Alastair Fothergill (“Chimpanzee,” “Bears”). With music from award-winning composer Harry Gregson-Williams ("The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," “Shrek” movies), Disneynature’s eighth True Life Adventure—the follow-up to 2014’s “Bears”— is now showing in theaters nationwide.

Our thoughts:

Rose and I had the pleasure of attending an advance screening of this movie and it was amazing. I truly feel this movie would be loved by all ages - from little ones to adults! I personally didn't feel there were any scenes too scary for little ones and any deaths of the animals were handled tastefully without showing anything graphic....same goes for the coupling up of any monkeys!

The film was visually stunning with a gorgeous location and setting. I learned a lot about the Toque Macaque monkeys in this movie and they are amazing creatures (who knew monkeys could swim under water?). There was the perfect amount of silliness and humor in this movie in addition to suspense and drama as the monkeys interacted amongst each other and other animals in their habitat as well.

Rose and I particularly enjoyed a fun scene involving the monkeys and a dog (hilarious) and I personally loved the introduction of a "hunky monkey" to the tunes of "What a Man" by Salt N Pepa - I laughed so hard with my friend and fellow blogger Lauren from Mrs. Weber's Neighborhood, who we were lucky enough to be seated next to!

This film is rated G with a run-time of 81 minutes and Tina Fey is the film's narrator. I highly recommend checking this movie out. Rose and I are planning on taking my husband to it Saturday night!

Stay up to date on Disneynature's Monkey Kingdom by following the film's Facebook (there are a bunch of behind the scenes monkey antics on video shared there) and Twitter accounts.

You can also check out the website for Monkey Kindom for theater's movie times near you! They have a fun free family activity pack with fun learning activities, crosswords puzzles and more for you to print and share with your family - you can access it here!
